Some Virgin Media customers have trouble connecting to the Internet because the network provider suffers another outage.

UK users have reported problems and the cause of the problem is unknown.

Most of the problems focus on going online, much like a breakdown a few weeks ago that left Londoners unplugged for several hours.

Virgin Media informs MailOnline that the problem has occurred in Nottingham and has now been resolved. However, customers still report having trouble accessing online.

Internet provider Openreach recorded the busiest day ever on its network on Tuesday.

The huge network is used by the Internet providers BT, Sky, Plusnet and TalkTalk, whereby only the rival Virgin uses an independent infrastructure.

On June 30, more than 189 petabytes of data from customers on Openreach in the UK were used, exceeding the previous record of 184 PB on June 11.

A general increase in internet use is due to adults working from home and children taking online classes during the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Openreach, the average weekly consumption in a pre-blocking world was 660 petabytes. In early June 2020, this figure rose to almost 1,000 PB.

However, the record-breaking days on June 11th and now on June 30th were largely due to the mass download of enormous Call of Duty updates.

Virgin Media also saw an increase of around 30 percent compared to the average of the past two weeks that it attributes to the CoD update.

Angry customers used social media to express their frustration. They said they had planned classes, digital dishes, exams, and zoom meetings.

Internet connection problems were first reported in London at 9:30 a.m. According to the Downdetector.co.uk website, users also reported outages in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and other areas.

When the working day reached its last hours, Virgin finally restored its internet services. A spokesman said: & # 39; We are pleased that the London broadband problem is now resolved.

"We are sorry again and we find that this was a frustrating situation for those affected."

Ofcom, which regulates the UK communications industry, said it contacted Virgin to find the cause of the problem and worked with them to ensure that customers could access web services as soon as possible.
