Trump fans rave and cheer the president's motorcade at the Million MAGA March

President Donald Trump's supporters have flooded the streets of Washington DC for a "Million MAGA March" in support of his long-term legal challenges to overthrow President-elect Joe Biden's victory.

Pro-Trump groups plan to congregate in Freedom Plaza on Saturday lunchtime and began to fill the streets hours before the official start time. Left activists vowed to protest the event and feared clashes.

Around 10:30 a.m., Trump left the White House and his motorcade drove past the assembled crowd of cheering supporters as he headed to his golf club in Sterling, Virginia.

The motorcade was greeted with applause, cheering, waving and whistling by hundreds of Trump supporters on either side of the street.

They beat the air, took photos, and held signs that said "Best prez ever" and "Stop the steal". The crowd also waved flags with messages like "Trump 2020: Keep America great", "Trump 2020: No more cops ** t", "Everyone on board the Trump train!", "Women for Trump" and "Trump 2020: Pro life ", pro god, pro weapon".

In the president's armored state car, Trump was seen smiling, waving and pointing at his supporters.

The motorcade passed the Willard Hotel and took a tour of Freedom Plaza, where people had climbed walls and other structures for a better view.

Some Trump supporters ran after the motorcade excitedly. There were chants from & # 39; USA! UNITED STATES! & # 39;, & # 39; We want Trump! We want Trump! & # 39; and & # 39; Four more years! Four more years! & # 39;

Many people wore red, white, and blue flag patterns. One man wore a T-shirt that said, "I'm unfortunate." A booth had been set up to sell goods like a Trump rally. The US parks police were present as Freedom Plaza is administered by the National Park Service.

Trump has made little headway with his lawsuits in court, and on Friday he began to doubt his prospects for the first time by telling reporters that time will tell who will occupy the White House on Jan. 20.

There have been other pro-Trump protests across the country since Biden was predicted the winner on Nov. 7, but they were small and unfolded with few incidents.

In addition to the event in Washington, pro-Trump protests and counter-protests are planned in other major cities in the country.

"It's heartwarming to see all of the tremendous support out there, especially the organic rallies that are going on across the country, including a big one on Saturday in DC. I might even try and stop by and say hello," Trump wrote on Twitter on friday.

Pro-Trump demonstrations in Washington and other cities on Saturday are set to show a mix of supporters for the president, right-wing extremists and members of the Oath Keepers militia and Proud Boys in a public demonstration of his support for his efforts to stay in power .

The organizers have given the rallies various names, including the Million MAGA March, the March for Trump and Stop the Steal. MAGA is an acronym for the Trump campaign slogan "Make America Great Again". Trump tweeted his support.

Some left groups are planning counter-demonstrations in Washington and other cities.

Law enforcement had warned of possible violence in connection with the elections, including by extremist groups that have not yet appeared. Experts from extremist groups said the demonstrations in Washington had the potential to turn violent if protesters clashed with counter-protesters.

Christopher Rodriguez, Washington's director of homeland security and emergency management, said his agency is tracking about a dozen groups, each made up of "about a dozen" people who said they would attend Saturday.

"I don't want anyone to think we're talking about large numbers of people," he said at a press conference Thursday.

Rodriguez stressed that the rallies were not allowed to carry weapons. "Violence will not be tolerated," he said.

Before Trump left the White House on Saturday, he launched a series of tweets on various topics. He attacked officials in Georgia for voting there and received a warning from Twitter.

The president also called on Congress to approve a bill on the pandemic and wished the country a happy Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights.

He also proposed to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, Democrat, saying that any delay in distributing any COVID-19 vaccine would be the fault of state authorities.

Biden further cemented his win on Friday when Edison Research results showed he won Georgia, which gave him a final record of 306 electoral college votes, far more than the 270 to be elected president and over Trump's 232 .

The 306 votes corresponded to what Trump won in 2016 in his victory over Hillary Clinton, which he then described as a "landslide".

Trump appeared to be on the verge of accepting the likelihood of leaving the White House in January during a speech at a White House event.

& # 39; This administration will not be blocked. Hopefully whatever happens in the future – who knows what administration it will be? I think time will tell, "said Trump in his first public statements since Biden was predicted to be the election winner a week ago.

As the election result became clearer, Trump discussed with advisors possible media projects and appearances that would keep him in the spotlight ahead of a possible White House offer for 2024, aides said.

According to several consultants, he is considering starting a television station or social media company to compete with those who cheated on him and hindered his ability to communicate directly with Americans.

In the near future, Trump is expected to campaign for Republican candidates ahead of two January 5 runoff elections in Georgia to determine which party controls the U.S. Senate.

Trump has refused to admit to Biden, claiming without evidence that he was defrauded by widespread election fraud. State election officials do not report serious irregularities, and some of his legal challenges have failed in court.

A Michigan state court on Friday denied a motion by Trump's supporters to block voting certification in Detroit, which was tough on Biden. And Trump campaign lawyers dropped a lawsuit in Arizona after the final vote there challenged them.

General election security officials have found no evidence that any voting system has deleted, lost, changed, or compromised in any way, two security groups said in a statement released Thursday by the United States’s leading cybersecurity agency.

To win a second term, Trump would have to overthrow Biden's leadership in at least three states, but he has so far provided no evidence that he could do so in any of them.

States have December 8th to confirm their elections and vote for the electoral college that will officially elect the new president on December 14th.

Trump's refusal to accept defeat has blocked the official transition. The federal agency providing funding to a future elected president, the General Services Administration, has not yet recognized Biden's victory and denied him access to federal office space and resources.

But Biden, who will meet with transition advisors in his home state of Delaware on Saturday, has pushed the process forward, setting legislative priorities, reviewing federal agency guidelines, and preparing to fill thousands of positions in the new administration.

"We are moving forward with the transition," said Jen Psaki, a senior advisor to the Biden transition team, stressing that Biden still needs "real-time intelligence" from the Trump administration to cope with the resurgent coronavirus pandemic and national security threats will.

Although the national referendum did not determine the election result, Biden was ahead with more than 5.3 million votes, or 3.4 percentage points. His share of the referendum, at 50.8%, was slightly higher than Ronald Reagan's in 1980, when he defeated incumbent Jimmy Carter.
