A 15-year-old was arrested for bringing a toy gun to a school in Melbourne.

The police were called to Beaconsfield School in the southeast of the city after they activated their emergency management plan, which was triggered by fear of firearms on Wednesday.

Officials arrested the boy for possession of a counterfeit firearm. He is interviewed.

There is no threat to the community.
