West Ham's Tottenham stars Sergio Reguilon, Giovani Lo Celso, Erik Lamela and Manuel Lanzini broke the government's Covid-19 rules by spending Christmas together.

According to government guidelines set on December 19, those living in Tier 4 areas such as London were not allowed to mingle with anyone outside their own household at Christmas.
West Ham Tottenham stars Sergio Reguilon, Erik Lamela, Giovani Lo Celso and Manuel Lanzini are believed to have broken Covid-19 rules by spending Christmas together
Up to three households across the country were only allowed to meet on Christmas Day.
Tottenham have heavily sentenced their players for breaking the rules.
A statement said: “We are extremely disappointed and strongly condemn this picture of some of our players with family and friends together at Christmas, especially as we know the sacrifices everyone across the country has made to celebrate in Stay safe.
& # 39; The rules are clear, there are no exceptions, and we regularly remind all of our players and staff of the latest protocols and their responsibility to set an example. The matter will be handled internally. & # 39;
West Ham said they were "disappointed" to learn of Lanzini's actions.
Lanzini posted a picture of himself and his family in the same house on Christmas Day
Their statement reads: “The club has set the highest possible standards in its protocols and actions related to COVID-19. We are therefore disappointed to learn of Manuel Lanzini's measures. The matter was handled internally and Manuel was strongly reminded of his responsibilities. & # 39;
Sportsmail understands that Lanzini has returned a negative Covid-19 test since the photo was taken and that only Ryan Fredericks is currently self-isolating on the West Ham roster.
The club is also believed to have thoroughly cleaned their Rush Green training ground to keep abreast of the rising cases of Covid-19 across the country.
Lanzini himself apologized for his action in a post on Twitter.
The striker wrote: “I apologize for a serious mistake I made over Christmas and I take full responsibility for my actions. I know that people have made difficult sacrifices to keep them safe, and I should set a better example. & # 39;
A Met Police statement on Saturday said: “We know the image and the statements of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
& # 39; We will contact both clubs for further details.
"We are reminding all Londoners that it is up to us all to make the right decisions to slow the spread of the virus."
Those living in Tier 4 areas are required to stay at home, barring limited legal exemptions that include work and education. People are not allowed to meet others indoors unless you live with them or they are part of your bubble of support.

One tweeted: “I've lost my respect for Lamela Lo Celso and Reguilon. How could they do that? Should be banned. & # 39;

Before Christmas, Reguilon announced that Mourinho had given him a suckling pig because he would be spending the occasion alone
The defender told the Spanish newspaper AS: “For example, on Christmas Day, he knows that I am alone.
“We worked out on the 25th at 3pm and I had a box on my seat. I open it and it was a suckling pig that was already cooked.
"He said to me," I know that you are alone for Christmas so you don't have to cook and eat well. "
