An eight-year-old girl torn from the street in front of her mother was brought to safety in a Texas hotel room seven hours later before the police arrested a 51-year-old suspect during her kidnapping.
The police discovered Salem Sabatka at a hotel in Fort Worth, Texas, around 2 a.m. on Sunday, less than 8 miles from where she had been kidnapped seven and a half hours earlier.
51-year-old Michael Webb was arrested and booked for severe kidnapping.
The young woman had been walking with her mother in Fort Worth's Ryan Place neighborhood on Saturday evening when a man grabbed the girl and put her in his car.
The heartbreaking surveillance video showed Salem's mother jumping into the vehicle and desperately trying to save her daughter before the kidnapper pushed her out and drove off.

The police discovered Salem at around 2 a.m. on Sunday in a room in the WoodSprings Suites Hotel (picture), less than 13 km from the place where she had been kidnapped seven and a half hours earlier
Officer Buddy Calzada said at the early Sunday press conference that Salem's alleged kidnapper, a 51-year-old man named Michael Webb, was arrested
Two citizens contacted the police after discovering a car that matched the description of the car used in the kidnapping (above) outside the hotel in Fort Worth's Forest Hill neighborhood
Shortly after her kidnapping, an amber alert was issued for Amber, who is 4'5 "tall, in which the suspect was described as a" fair-skinned black man with a thin build "and the car described as a dark gray four-door sedan with alloy wheels.
The warning included a photo of Salem wearing the same shirt she was wearing when she was taken.
Two citizens reported seeing a car in the WoodSprings Suites hotel parking lot in Forest Hill that matched Amber Alert's description and contacted the authorities.
Officials dispatched to the hotel, determined which room the suspect was in, and broke the door.
Salem has reportedly been found in good condition but taken to a local hospital for examination, Officer Buddy Calzada said at the early Sunday press conference.

A surveillance video from a nearby house showed Salem's mother crashing out of the vehicle after trying to get her daughter to safety.
The car sped off and the mother immediately dialed 911 and shouted, "Please help me, someone is calling the police, my daughter has just been kidnapped."
The police thanked the public for disseminating information about the suspect that ultimately allowed them to take Salem home.
