The sacked Eton master said half of the rape allegations were FAKED: The teacher who claims he was sacked in defense of free speech falsely stated that 40-60% of sexual assault allegations are false

  • Eton master Will Knowland falsely claimed that half of the rape claims were fictitious
  • He was fired after posting a YouTube video on his personal channel
  • The video invited students to question the current radical feminist orthodoxy.
  • Eton-Provost Lord Waldegrave said Knowland was promoting a "false narrative".

An Eton master who claimed he was fired in defense of free speech falsely claimed that half of the rape claims were fictitious and that sexual assaults against men "dwarfs" those against women.

Will Knowland, an English teacher at the elite school, said he was fired after an argument over a lecture in which he invited students to question "the current radical feminist orthodoxy."

The so-called patriarchal paradox was published on Mr. Knowland's personal YouTube channel and was not delivered to students because of the pandemic.

Will Knowland, an English teacher at the elite school, said he was fired after an argument over a lecture in which he invited students to question "the current radical feminist orthodoxy."

He says Headmaster Simon Henderson's lecture was deemed "too dangerous for the boys" and his dismissal was prompted by his refusal to remove him from YouTube.

But Eton-Provost Lord Waldegrave, chairman of the school governing body, said Mr. Knowland was promoting a "false narrative" and that his video may violate the Equality Act.

The teacher has already raised over £ 30,000 for a possible legal challenge to his dismissal and has received supportive comments from MPs and academics. Mr. Knowland, who refused to comment yesterday, stated that his ideas were relatively anodyne, such as the notion that "men and women are psychologically different".

In the lecture, however, he appeared to be arguing that sexual assaults by feminists were overrated for political reasons. "Rape is not a clear claim to male oppression of women, since male-to-male rape in prisons rapes male-to-female dwarfs".

When challenged to comment in the comments below the video, he stated, "The only serious scientific studies ever conducted on the subject estimate that … 40-60 percent of rape allegations are false."

Most experts believe that the rate of false rape allegations in the UK is no more than 3 to 4 percent. The FBI puts the unsubstantiated reports in the US at 8 percent.

Sarah Green, director of the End Violence Against Women Coalition, said Mr. Knowland was guilty of "extremely selective and misuse of rape statistics".

She said, “How to encourage critical thinking and model an independent, truth-seeking mind, I don't know. And you would think any teacher, an adult in a position of authority over young people, could think twice about rape as "some old subject" for a little bit of provocation. "

Steven Pinker, the Harvard psychologist who wrote an open letter in defense of Mr. Knowland, admitted yesterday that he hadn't seen the talk first. "He didn't say the talk was a defense of male virtues," said Professor Pinker.

The £ 42,500 a year boarding school in Berkshire, whose old boys include Princes William and Harry and Boris Johnson, have been accused of being "heartless and merciless" towards Mr Knowland.

But Lord Waldegrave said the teacher refused to accept "internal discipline".
