The Nolan sisters Linda and Anne fight cancer together

Nolan sisters Linda and Anne have announced that they will fight cancer together after the disease has been diagnosed within a few days.

The siblings, who were part of the Irish pop group The Nolans, started chemotherapy at Victoria Hospital in Blackpool last month.

Shortly after the sisters returned from filming a series of The Nolans Go Cruising in March, they received news of their shock diagnoses within a few days.

A tweet from Nolan's report confirmed the devastating news on Sunday.

It said: “In the past few months, Linda and Anne have been fighting cancer and chemotherapy together during the ban. We will get through this together as a family. & # 39;

Loose Women presenter Coleen also went to Twitter after the news came out last night.

"You hit it before – you can hit it again," she said. "Please keep your thoughts and good wishes."

Linda spoke from the moment they were diagnosed and said to the sun, "We laughed and wept really. It's hysterical."

"Forget the Chemical Brothers, we've become the Chemo Sisters," she added.

The mother of two, Anne, said: “I don't want to die. I love my life so much. I love my daughters, my grandchildren, my friends, my whole family.

"I want to live as long as I can."

Anne, 69, found that she had stage three breast cancer in April, 20 years after she was first diagnosed with an illness in 2000.

Her sister Linda, 61, discovered days later that she had incurable liver cancer.

The pop star has also fought cancer before. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, cellulite and lymphedema in the arm in 2007 and pelvic cancer in 2017.

Linda said she thought her scans were "fine as they usually are" before her oncologist's office called and said she needed an MRI scan because they found something on her liver.

The call came just half an hour after her sister Maureen contacted her to bring the news that Anne's breast cancer had returned.

"I couldn't tell anyone at the time because they were obviously devastated by Anne," she said. & # 39; I thought & # 39;, I can't turn around and say, & # 39; actually I've got it back too & # 39 ;. & # 39; & # 39;

The devastating news comes seven years after Linda and Anne lost their sister Bernie to cancer in 2013.

The second youngest Nolan was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. She underwent chemotherapy and mastectomy and announced in February 2012 that she was cancer free.

Months later, however, Bernie shared the heartbreaking news that her cancer had spread to the brain, lungs, liver, and bones. She died in July 2013 at the age of 52.

Linda said, "I look in the mirror now and see Bernie because I think we are so alike anyway and it just brings back all of her trauma and how sick she was."

After the sisters received their heartbreaking diagnoses, Maureen moved in with Anne and Linda moved in with her sister Denise.

The sisters had their first chemotherapy session together on June 5 and will both complete a total of six rounds of treatment.

Anne, who was in the hospital for 11 days during her treatment, will then either have a mastectomy or a lumpectomy, most likely followed by radiation therapy.

In April, Loose Women presenter Coleen shared how Linda's cancer treatment had been delayed due to the coronavirus crisis.

The 55-year-old Loose Women presenter appeared this morning discussing how the global pandemic was waiting for her older sister to be treated.

Linda receives regular hospital treatment to "strengthen her bones and keep cancer at bay," she said.

Coleen added: & # 39; It's worrying. I know that one of her injections was delayed by a couple of weeks, which meant that she was in severe pain with her bones.

"You don't want her to miss what she should have. On the other hand, is it more at risk for her to take her to a hospital where she meets other people? & # 39;

Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in the third stage for the first time in 2006.

Although the star went into remission, the cancer returned in 2017 and was confirmed to be incurable.

She announced last night that she was now diagnosed with liver cancer.
