The police received an emergency call shortly after 5:20 p.m. on Monday evening with reports of a man who had been attacked with a machete in Chervil Rise.

The victim, probably in his mid-20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A statement by the West Midlands Police said: “We have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed in Wolverhampton Street today (July 13).

Shortly after 5:20 p.m. we received a call from 999 saying that a man in Chervil Rise, Wolverhampton, was connected to a machete.

“It is assumed that the perpetrator ran away on foot and we are now calling on witnesses to contact them.
