The highly anticipated but heavily delayed James Bond movie could be at home on Netflix or Apple TV as the two streaming giants try to spend big bucks to get 007 onto their platforms.

The news that the film – No Time to Die – was potentially going to a streaming service was first posted on his film by film critic and screenwriter Drew McWeeny Twitter.

"I can't imagine that we could see James Bond debut on Apple TV + or Netflix," he said in a tweet on Thursday. "The numbers I've heard over the past few days are insane."

McWeeny did not provide a figure on how much the film could cost, but tweeted that MGM had "serious pressure" to sell the film given the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on theatrical releases.

"And there are some MONSTER offers on the tables," added the reviewer.

Theatrical releases in theaters have almost stalled due to COVID-19, and some massive projects have already had to settle for streaming releases.
