A couple's engagement got off to a rocky start after the future wife accidentally accelerated on her boat, causing her fiancé to be thrown into the water as suggested.
Colton Brownlee was about to ask his friend Julie Palmer's question when she docked her boat on Lake Como, Wisconsin.
But the scenic proposition didn't quite go according to plan when Julie accidentally squeezed the throttle as she walked forward to kiss her new fiancé.
Colton was thrown into the water and the boat, with Julie still in, sped away and crashed into the bank.

In the clip, recorded on Sept. 26, Colton poses a group of friends on the waterfront with T-shirts that read, "Julie Will You Marry Me?"
45-year-old Julie then drives her boat into the dock, but cannot reach the pier because a second ship has already moored.
30-year-old Colton has to step over the second boat to bring Julie ashore.
But when he's between the two, Colton decides it's time to ask the big question and get a stunned Julie to say "yes".

Julie moves on to kiss her new fiancé and accept the ring, but accidentally presses the boat's throttle.

Luckily for the couple, a soaked Colton manages to hold the ring box in place before friends help Julie push her boat back into the water.
Colton later said, “We have a great relationship and family and something happens – things don't always go as planned, but we have a memory that will stick together for a lifetime.
“You hear my good friend George on the video saying, 'It's like a fairy tale,' and it really is.
“I have to show the world how much I love this woman and that I want to marry her after five years together. For me it's like a fairy tale.
“I somehow managed to hold onto the ring throughout the process of being thrown in the water.
"I think it was a pretty good box because I slammed it shut and squeezed it tight."
