At one point in its history, the former lighthouse was also used by the Coast Guard, who converted the top floor of the lighthouse into an observatory offering a full 360-degree view of the entire area.
Rhys Jordan of real estate agent Purple Bricks said of the property, "It was the Coast Guard headquarters for a while, and I suspect it was them who added the observation room."
He said the ground floor accommodation was used as an office during that time.

The lighthouse also benefits from its location on a peninsula that is often reported to be the sunniest place in Wales with very little rainfall.
The area is also considered a prime location for British wildlife. Nearby colonies of kittiwakes, Manx shearwaters, gannets and puffins, as well as dolphins are regularly sighted in local waters.
