The man, whose marriage ended when future French President Emmanuel Macron had an affair with his wife, died nine months ago – without notice to this day.
André-Louis Auzière, a 69-year-old retired banker, ended his days last December in "the strictest privacy," according to one of the children he had with Brigitte Macron, who is now 67 years old.
Tiphaine Auzière, a 36-year-old lawyer, told Paris Match on Wednesday: “My father died, I buried him on December 24th in the strictest privacy.
I adored him, he was a separate being, a nonconformist who valued his anonymity more than anything. He has to be respected. & # 39;

André-Louis Auzière married the then Brigitte Trogneux in 1974 and together they had three children – Tiphaine; Sébastien, a 45-year-old engineer; and Laurence, a 43 year old cardiologist.
After years of happiness together, the family experienced a crisis in the early 1990s when young Emmanuel Macron began an affair with a woman 25 years older than him.
He first met Brigitte Auzière while attending her French and Latin classes at La Providence, a private school in Amiens, in the French department of Nordsomme.
It was run by Jesuits – the strict Roman Catholic Order – but this didn't stop young Emmanuel from meeting his teacher, who ran a theater club.

"They had private meetings when Emmanuel was 15," said a former classmate.
Ms. Auzière found him very creative and really encouraged him to be as adult as possible. She held him back for additional work. It was the school talk. & # 39;
Mrs Auzière responded by separating from her husband and moving to the French capital herself.
She later said, "At the age of 17, Emmanuel said to me, 'Whatever you do, I will marry you! "

The out-of-control lovers stayed together until the Auzières finally divorced in 2006.
President Macron, now 42, married 67-year-old Brigitte in 2007, and André-Louis Auzière became a virtual hermit.
Many journalists tried to find him for an interview when Mr. Macron became head of state in 2017, but to no avail.

He has never spoken about the breakup with his wife and there are no recent photos of him.
It is not known whether Brigitte Macron or her husband attended his funeral or how and where he died.
A spokesman for the president said there would be "no comment on the matter because it is private".
Despite the tensions, the Auzière children always got along with Mr. Macron, who and his wife have no children of their own.

At the couple's wedding reception in Le Touquet in October 2007, Mr Macron said in an after-dinner speech to the Auzière family: “I would like to thank you for accepting us and for loving us as we are.
“I especially wanted to thank Brigitte's children. If there had been someone who hadn't easily found this marriage, it would have been her. & # 39;
But André-Louis Auzière was not mentioned, just as there were no honors today.
