The FBI has seized Hunter Biden's laptop and confirmed that the former Vice President's son's e-mails are "authentic", while rejecting previous claims that they were part of a disinformation campaign in Russia.
Senior federal officials told Fox News Tuesday that the office now has possession of the computer, which allegedly contains emails allegedly incorporating Joe Biden into his son's international business dealings while serving as vice president.
Insiders said both the FBI and the Justice Department agreed with National Intelligence Service John Ratcliffe's assessment Monday that there was no evidence that the files were part of a Russian disinformation scheme.
Ratcliffe closed the allegations after Democratic House Intel chairman Adam Schiff said the documents were a "smear test" on Biden, who is "from the Kremlin."
Joe Biden and his son Hunter are being re-examined in connection with Jäger's overseas business dealings after it was discovered that his abandoned laptop contains emails allegedly showing that Joe Biden was involved in Jäger's business. Joe Biden's campaign has denied any wrongdoing

Law enforcement agencies also reportedly confirmed that the emails in question, including one in which Ukrainian official Vadym Pozharskyi thanked Hunter for inviting him to meet his father, were genuine.
However, the FBI has refused to confirm whether or not they are investigating the laptop and its contents.
In a letter to the Republican chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, Ron Johnson, on Tuesday, the FBI said it would not comment on Ratcliffe's remarks.
"Regarding the subject of your letter, we have nothing to add to the public statement made by the Director of the National Intelligence Service on October 19 on available exploitable intelligence," the office said.
"As actionable information is developed, the FBI, in consultation with the intelligence community, will evaluate the need to provide you and the committee with defense information in accordance with the established notification framework."
It comes hours after the president Trump called on Attorney General Bill Barr to "act quickly" and appoint a special adviser to investigate his Democratic rival before election day.
Trump said Barr must appoint someone to examine Biden's son Hunter's laptop, which has been the subject of repeated Trump attacks on his rival after President's attorney Rudy Giuliani turned the contents of Jäger's laptop over to the New York Post .
The president said it exposed "major corruption" and it should come out before the elections.
Trump has yet to state what crime he believes the Bidens have committed, but that hasn't stopped him from suggesting to voters that Biden belongs in prison.
His request appears to violate the Justice Department's policy of taking action that would disrupt an election – an issue highlighted in both Hillary Clinton's 2016 email investigation and the then-unknown Russia investigation.
“We have to get the Attorney General to act. He has to act. And he has to act quickly. He has to appoint someone, "Trump said, asking for a special lawyer for" Fox & Friends. "
President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he wanted Attorney General Bill Barr to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Bidens
Trump said he wanted Barr to act before the election, which is only two weeks away
"This is serious corruption that must be known about before the elections," Trump said in a call-in appearance on the network.
After Trump made his request to Barr, he immediately went to the polls and said, “By the way, we're doing very well. We'll win the election. & # 39;
On Monday, DNI John Ratcliffe said Hunter Biden's laptop was "not part of a Russian disinformation campaign" when he beat up Rep. Adam Schiff for saying Trump's rival was tainted from the Kremlin.
He confirmed that the FBI had the laptop but did not comment on whether the contents were being investigated.
Ratcliffe, a Trump loyalist who took office in May, accused Schiff of "politicizing" intelligence services – and responded to Schiff's allegation about the mysterious laptop that Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani received from a computer repair shop.
National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe said Monday that Hunter Biden's laptop "is not part of a disinformation campaign in Russia".
Some of the content Giuliani made available to the New York Post includes emails allegedly exposing business relationships between Joe Biden and his son, who in documents attempts to take advantage of his father's previous position as Vice President in Ukraine and China .
"It's funny that some of the people who complain the most about the politicization of intelligence are the ones who politicize the intelligence," Ratcliffe told Fox Business on Monday.
"And unfortunately, it is Adam Schiff who told the intelligence community that, as you pointed out Friday, the intelligence community believes the Hunter Biden laptop and the emails on it are part of a Russian disinformation campaign," he added.
"Let me be clear: the secret services don't believe that because there are no secret services that support it. And we haven't given Chairman Schiff or any member of Congress any information that Hunter Biden's laptop is part of a Russian disinformation campaign. It's just not true. & # 39;
A receipt from the Mac Shop in Wilmington, Delaware, shows that Hunter Biden's signature was signed to repair three MacBook Pro laptops for $ 85
Last week, a report in the New York Post alleged that Hunter Biden's laptop had been abandoned at the Mac Shop in Wilmington, Delaware (above) for months and contained emails allegedly including Joe Biden in his son's international deals during his time as Vice President. The Biden campaign denies any wrongdoing
However, he also said that the FBI, which is part of the intelligence community, was in possession of Hunter Biden's laptop.
"The FBI took possession of this," Ratcliffe said. "Without commenting on an investigation they may or may not have, your investigation does not center on Russian disinformation, and the intelligence services play no role in that regard."
Giuliani sent the Post a subpoena for the laptop dated December 19, 2019, an indication that it has been in the office for months.
The Post reported, based on an email allegedly on the laptop, that Ukrainian official Vadym Pozharskyi sought a meeting with the elderly Biden in 2015.
“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving me the opportunity to meet your father and spend some time together. It's an honor and a pleasure, ”the email read.
However, the email failed to state that the two had actually met, and the Biden campaign replied, "We've checked Joe Biden's official schedules from that point on, and they never met like from the New York Post claims. "
Documents surfaced Tuesday showing Hunter Biden's signature on a receipt from a Delaware computer store where he dropped off laptops with details of his international deals.
The receipt from the Mac Shop in Wilmington appears to show that Hunter approved repairs on three MacBook Pro laptops for $ 85, according to Fox News. However, the signature was not verified.
Ratcliffe, who was a vocal defender of Trump during the impeachment, in which Schiff played a key role, called on people to use the Intel community to "use a political narrative."
Ship told CNN "We know that whole smear on Joe Biden came from the Kremlin."
“It has been clear for well over a year that they pushed this false narrative and the Vice President and his son forward. … advancing this Kremlin narrative is quite breathtaking. … and the president is only too happy that the Kremlin is helping to strengthen it. & # 39;
The attacks come amid ongoing questions about Hunter Biden's emails that have messed up the campaign for the past few weeks.
President Trump took the information and made it the focus of the weekend's election campaigns to portray the Bidens as a "criminal family".
