The UK Covid death toll is over 60,000 with 414 new victims. However, the death toll is 17% lower than last week, and the number of cases continues to decline with only 14,879 infections
The UK's Covid-19 death toll passed the grim milestone of 60,000 today after health officials announced another 414 deaths.
Health ministry chiefs recorded 498 laboratory-confirmed victims last Thursday, which means the daily number of victims is down 16.7 percent from the previous week.
Daily deaths have steadily declined since November 21, about two weeks after England entered its second national lockdown.
As a result of the tough blanket measures, the number of cases has also decreased. The cases registered today (14,879) are 15 percent lower than last Thursday (17,555).
