A father was stabbed three times after facing a trio who allegedly stole his car from a daycare center.

The 28-year-old man is believed to have picked up his child at around 5:10 p.m. on Monday at the center on Clem Street in Brassall, southeast Queensland, when the incident occurred.

After three men known to the alleged victim approached the car, one of whom drove a short distance away, the owner confronted them and was allegedly stabbed three times.

The 18-year-old Silkstone man will stand in front of Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday after being charged with wounding (stock photo).

He was brought to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
