An 18-year-old man has died in hospital after fighting for his life in a horror car accident that killed three people.
Eighteen-year-old Nathan Cartwright was in the front seat of a yellow Skoda Fabia that had been plowed into a tree in Kingswinford near Dudley on Tuesday evening.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service took him to the Major Trauma Center at Queen Elizabeth Hospital with life-threatening injuries, but on Saturday he tragically lost his battle for life.
Mr Cartwright is the fourth person to be killed in the accident after drivers Joshua Parkes, 21, Lucy Tibbetts, 16 and Izzie Floyd, 16, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A fifth passenger, Isobel Ramsell, also 16, is in critical condition in the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

16-year-old Izzie Floyd was also pronounced dead in the Kingswinford crash near Dudley on Tuesday evening
A police car was nearby when the accident happened, but West Midlands Police have not yet been able to determine whether they had been tracking the Fabia.
In an emotional tribute, Mr Cartwright's mother said, “My beautiful boy Nath left far too early. You lived your short life to the fullest. You are at peace now.
"I would also like to thank the emergency services and the QE Hospital for saving his life and giving me the opportunity to say goodbye to him."
Following the tragic news, a GoFundMe page was set up giving Mr. Cartwright "the mailing he deserves".
More than half of the £ 2,000 goal was met in 24 hours.
"Heaven has really won an angel," it said on the page.
"Take a rest, Nath, will miss your infectious smile."
An ambulance, an intensive care vehicle, three paramedics, an ambulance and six ambulances were brought to the scene after the yellow Skoda Fabia crashed on Bromley Lane around 8:50 p.m.
A West Midlands Police vehicle spotted the car shortly before the accident but said it was unclear if a chase had taken place.

Police have opened an investigation after four of the five passengers on a Skoda Fabia were killed when their car hit a tree
Mr Parkes (picture) – the driver of the car – was pronounced dead by emergency services at the scene
The deceased were among five people traveling in a yellow Skoda Fabia that crashed on Bromley Lane in the Kingswinford area of Dudley at around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday
Her mother paid tribute to Miss Tibbetts earlier this week and said, “Our beautiful baby has been taken away from us.
“You were an inspiration, Lulu, you made us smile when it was so difficult for you … not just a daughter, a true friend.
"Rest in peace, nobody can hurt you now."
Miss Tibbetts recently shared her joy in passing her GCSE exams on social media and wrote, “The most nervous day of my life, but we shattered it and I couldn't be more proud of my best friend. Forward and up. & # 39;
Friends shared on Wednesday how Mr Parkes got off the road while overtaking another car before plowing into the tree at 90 mph.
The neighbors described running out of their homes to revive the girls after they were thrown from the rubble.
A friend who planted flowers at the crime scene said last week, “I know Lucy, who died, and Nathan, who was in the passenger seat.
Nathan is in the Birmingham hospital with a brain hemorrhage. He is being operated on because he also has a damaged spine.
A police car is towed from the scene of the accident last night. West Midlands police said police had not known if there was any interaction with the Skoda
& # 39; He (Josh) was going over 90 mph and got behind another car.
& # 39; He passed it and when he turned back into the alley he lost control and went into the tree.
“I'm not sure why they went so fast. I have no idea.
& # 39; Lucy never hurt anyone. She was a beautiful girl.
“She had started a new job and was just getting her life sorted out, but now she's lost it.
She had done accounting in college and started an apprenticeship.
"She struggled with fear and other girls would make it difficult for her because they were jealous of how beautiful she was."
One resident, who did not want to be named, said, “I was in the utility room and in the back of my house and even then it sounded like a bomb was going off.
& # 39; There was that almighty bang like thunder and we ran out to find this car completely mutilated.
It is believed that driver Mr. Parkes put his Skoda sale up for sale on Facebook a few days before the fatal crash
“There was hardly any of it left – it still makes me shudder when I think about it.
“I just knew that people would have lost their lives in the state of ruins. The girls were thrown into the street. It was just awful. & # 39;. & # 39;
Another resident of the suburban street said they heard the crash and looked out the window to see the yellow Skoda wrapped around the tree.
The force initially said the officers saw the vehicle shortly before the accident but did not speak to the occupants or track the car.
Instead, a later statement suggests that & # 39;It is not known if the police interacted with the Skoda and this is now being investigated by the Independent Police Conduct Office (IOPC).
Emergency services rushed to the location where three occupants of the car were pronounced dead. A teenager and a young girl, also in the car, are in critical condition in the hospital
Mr Parkes, the driver, had put his Skoda up for sale or car swap last Friday, it later found out.
On his Facebook account he had posted a photo of the vehicle with the message: “Any swaps / cash offers? Message for details & # 39 ;.
In response to a friend about why he was selling the car so soon, he replied with a "police car" emoji.
The friend also asked him if he was the one he wanted to follow recently until he gave a red light. Mr. Parkes replied, "Probably."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The crews arrived at the scene and found that a car carrying five affected patients had crashed into a tree.
Unfortunately, it soon became clear that nothing could be done to save the driver of the car, a man, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.
& # 39; Despite the best efforts of the staff, two teenage girls who were in the back seat of the vehicle have also been confirmed dead.
"Our thoughts are directed to the families of everyone involved at this time."
Floral tributes were left at the site of the crash, where investigators worked all night to clear the street and gather evidence.

Sgt. Dean Caswell said, "I would urge anyone who saw the Skoda drive in the area last night, or who may have captured anything on dash cam footage, to contact us as soon as possible."
A Go Fund Me page was set up by Miss Tibbetts' sister Kaya and has so far raised more than £ 4,900 for her funeral arrangements and a memorial bench.
A fundraiser was also set up to raise funds for Josh's funeral arrangements – with the aim of raising £ 3,000.
PC Chris Ridge of the Armed Forces Collision Detection Unit previously said, “This is a devastating time for the families of those involved and we have specially trained officials to assist them during this difficult time.
“The loss of these young people is shocking and deeply troubling for everyone involved. All families want their privacy to be respected during this difficult time.
“We are still working on a series of investigations to understand what happened and why.
