Tatler Reveals The European Makers You Need To Know

While British kings and blue-blooded beauties are often photographed at dazzling high society parties and weddings – or at least before Covid – their European counterparts remain a mystery to many.

Fortunately Tatler has put together a comprehensive guide for the continental go-getters and shakers who are worth caring for an Entente Cordiale before Britain officially leaves the European Union.

On the list are model sisters Viola and Vera Arrivabene, whose Italian mother is a distant relative of Queen Victoria, the former French prima ballerina Aurélie Dupont and two dashing Spanish dukes: Rafael de Medina and Fernando Fitz-James Stuart.

Here are 10 of the well-connected Europeans you may not have heard of …

The well-dressed sisters, aged 29 and 27, are the oldest children of Venice's Count Giberto Arrivabene Valenti Gonzaga and Princess Bianca di Savoia Aosta, a descendant of Queen Victoria through her paternal grandmother, HRH Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark.

The couple, both descendants of King Louis XIV of France through King Ferdinando IV. Of the two Sicilies and his wife, Archduchess Maria Carolina of Austria, married in 1988 at a glamorous wedding.

They passed their good looks on to daughters Viola and Vera, who can mingle with other beauties in society at events like the Venice Film Festival.

In addition to their modeling careers, the sisters run their own shoe brand and are ambassadors for the Dior fashion house. The ultra-luxurious range of slippers, ViBiVenezia, is made up of a range of lush fabrics and colors.

At the age of 17 he moved to Turin and in 2003 secured a job in the family business as Fiat Marketing Director.

Last December, Lapo was involved in a serious car accident in Jerusalem.

Named the European It Girl of the Summer by Tatler, Melusine spends her time jet setting in glamorous locations and using the breathtaking grounds of her family's 16th-century castle, Castello Ruspoli, just outside Rome.

The 26-year-old princess, who shares her lavish lifestyle with 17,600 followers on Instagram, previously revealed that she "never uses" her princess title and prefers to "be like everyone else".

Melusine was born in Paris to the daughter of French model Theresa Patricia Genest and the late Prince Alessandro Ruspoli, an eccentric aristocrat whose family titles are reported to go back more than 1,000 years.

Her father was a three-time married woman and a notorious party-goer, whose social circle included the American writer Truman Capote, the French actress and singer Brigitte Bardot and the French poet Jean Cocteau.

Prince Alessandro, who was also engaged in acting and had a small role in The Godfather: Part III (1990), died in 2005 at the age of 80.

For her own party, Melusine started a career in fashion, according to Tatler, and has already appeared on the catwalk for Dolce & Gabbana.
