Prince Harry has admitted he didn't know there was subconscious prejudice until he "lived in my wife's shoes for a day or a week" after marrying Meghan Markle.
The 36-year-old Duke of Sussex spoke about racism in an interview with Black Lives Matter activist Patrick Hutchinson for GQ magazine, admitting that his "upbringing" did not enable him to understand the subject.
He said, “As soon as you realize or feel a little uncomfortable, you need to go out and educate yourself because ignorance is no longer an excuse.
And unconscious prejudice, as I understand it, with the upbringing and training I had, I had no idea what it was. I had no idea it existed. And then, sadly as they say, it took me many, many years to realize it, especially when I lived in my wife's shoes for a day or a week. & # 39;
Harry spoke from his £ 11 million home in Montecito, California during an open discussion with activist Hutchinson about the GQ Heroes conference taking place this week.

The interview was conducted last Monday, six weeks after GQ reached out to Harry to ask if he would like to speak to Mr. Hutchinson as part of the magazine's coverage in support of Black History Month.
