James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan launched his Tomorrow Never Dies-inspired villa on Malibu Beach for $ 100 million.
On the sale, the 007 star will make a tidy profit after Brosnan created the property by combining two separate lots he bought in 2000 for just $ 5.1 million and $ 2.25 million .
The oceanfront retreat spans over an acre with two homes that include nine bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.
The house was built in 2010 and has so many solar panels that the new owner can heat the house, the outdoor pool and the guest cabin and still feed electricity back to the local grid.
The house is exceptionally environmentally friendly as all of the water is recycled on site in a purpose built facility, along with a waste disposal system, bespoke energy saving lighting and a solar powered rotatable compost heap.
A great deal of care and craftsmanship was put into the planning and construction of the manor house and the matching pool house

When their dream home was first built, the two were determined to set a new standard for environmental friendliness.
In the listing on the website of real estate agent Christopher Cortazzo, he describes the property "once in a lifetime" in detail.
"This retreat is surrounded by wraparound lanais and courtyards that invite you to yoga at dawn, relaxing afternoons, cocktails at sunset, and effortless entertainment under the stars," the description says. "On a rare one-acre lot with 30 meters of beach, the Orchid House is designed for resort-style living."
The master suite alone is 4,000 square feet and has two fireplaces, an art studio, and a terrace overlooking the ocean.
The lower level of the house includes a screening room with space for 20 people, two bars and an air-conditioned wine cellar with space for around 200 bottles. Elsewhere there is a music room, gym, and spa with two soaking tubs.
All windows are glare-free insulating glass and there is a centrally controlled air conditioning and lighting system that automatically switches off the light if a room remains empty for more than five minutes.
The air conditioner also automatically adjusts different rooms to maximize energy saving.
Brosnan has been actively involved in every aspect of home construction, right down to the selection of natural recycled wood for the kitchen benches and the low flow toilets. & # 39;
A large stone deck extends the width of the property and has a number of seating and dining areas, as well as fire pits
One shot of the courtyard per night makes the house appear more like a resort hotel than a family home
The master bedroom on the upper level of the house opens to a balcony that offers great views of the ocean and pool
There's no shortage of chairs at home, while a glass-enclosed dining area helps calm the wind while you eat
The double island gourmet kitchen has floor-to-ceiling glass slides that allow easy access to the outside terrace
The master bedroom on the second level offers breathtaking views over the beach and a wraparound terrace
Coupled with the eco-tech, the house is full of devices that make Bond proud.
