Netflix & # 39; Haunting of Bly Manor viewers claim they can't sleep after watching the series

Just two nights after Netflix shut down the supernatural horror drama series The Haunting Of Bly Manor on Friday, some viewers are already having trouble sleeping.

After watching the series, which is loosely based on Henry James' 1898 novella The Turn Of The Screw, Twitter users set out to take a break from the chilling scenes.

The new nine episodes, which are the second installment in the Haunting anthology, even made fans cover up all the mirrors in their house out of fear.

"It certainly offers a new way to tell a love story, and there are three of them that really beat the hearts of this season," Doctor Sleep director told Vanity Fair in August.

He explained, “They all have a very dark edge. And in the end, it's really hard to distinguish tragedy from romance. That feeling of romantic longing for someone who meant so much to us – but is gone – really is at the heart of any ghost story. & # 39;

While the series follows Flanagan's The Haunting Of Hill House and some of the same cast and creative teams return, the stories of the two seasons are not connected.
