Murderers are found guilty of murdering a 42-year-old woman in their "home of horror".

A woman who was beaten to death with a rolling pin accidentally ran into one of her killers after getting on the wrong bus and visiting a pub – only to be lured back to his "House of Secrets" and hacked into it has been.

Nathan Maynard-Ellis, 25, and his friend David Leesley, 30, were found guilty of murdering Julia Rawson, 42, in their apartment in Tipton, near Dudley, in May 2019.

The couple beat her to death with a rolling pin before using hacksaws to cut her body into 12 pieces, which they stuffed into black garbage bags.

They then discarded the body parts in two different places and burned their blood-stained clothes in a desperate attempt to cover up their crimes.

The jury heard that the Tipton apartment was called the "Apartment of Secrets".

The images captured in it reveal that it is full of creepy novels, a Chucky doll with a knife and bloody homemade face masks from characters from horror films that Maynard-Ellis used to make.

Another snapshot shows a workbench covered with dolls' heads and severed hands, as well as tools such as pliers, drills and an ax.

The process sounded like:

  • Julia Rawson met one of her murderers, Maynard-Ellis, after getting on the wrong bus and landing at the Bottle And Cork Pub in Dudley on May 11th last year.
  • She probably wouldn't have known he was gay or that his partner was in her "apartment of horror" when she got into a taxi with him;
  • Ms. Rawson was hit over the back of the head with a rolling pin four times before Maynard-Ellis and Leesley dismembered her in the bathroom.
  • It has been suggested that she may have had her right kidney removed as a macabre trophy of murder
  • Maynard-Ellis was seen taking a bloodstained sofa to a local dump the day after her murder.
  • A napkin on which Mrs. Rawson her nickname & # 39; Ju Ju & # 39; had written and given to Maynard-Ellis was found in his bedside table;
  • Bags containing Ms. Rawson's remains were found behind an elementary school and in the wasteland on June 12-19
  • It took the jury only six hours to return a unanimous murder sentence against Maynard-Ellis and his partner, David Leesley

Mr Justice Soole thanked the jury and told them: "It was a very demanding case because of the subject, I am very aware of that."

The couple have been taken into custody and will be sentenced at a date to be determined.

Ms. Rawson had spent the evening with an ex-girlfriend but had taken the wrong bus home and ended up at the Bottle And Cork pub in Dudley on May 11th last year.

The chance meeting led the murder victim back to the "home of horror".

Jurors heard Julia Dawson spending the evening of May 11th with an ex-girlfriend, but ended up at the Bottle and Cork Pub in Dudley after taking the wrong bus home.

The footage played in court showed the murder-obsessed Nathan Maynard-Ellis walking into the pub when she was talking to another man.

Ms. Rawson, who was sitting at the bar with another man, came up to him and they began to chat.

The jury heard that Ms. Rawson was a lesbian but sometimes "flirted" with men while drunk.

Karim Khalil QC said of the trial, “At around 2am, Julia and Nathan Maynard-Ellis got into a taxi.

“Before they got to the apartment, it was unlikely that Julia would have known that Nathan Maynard-Ellis was a homosexual.

Nor would she have known that his friend was in the apartment.

Besides, Julia had no way of knowing that she would be entering an "apartment of horror" – but she must have noticed this very soon after she entered.

The jury heard that Ms. Rawson was hit over the back of the head with a rolling pin four times before Maynard-Ellis and Leesley cut her up in the bathroom.

The couple used saws to cut up their bodies, and it has been suggested that the evil couple removed their right kidney as a macabre trophy of murder.

After murdering and dismembering Ms. Rawson, the couple stuffed her body parts in black plastic bags.

The next day, the two were caught walking CCTV along a nearby canal, where they left their bags in the undergrowth.

On the evening after the murder, video footage was released showing Maynard-Ellis enjoying a beer at the Fountain Inn pub in Tipton less than 24 hours after the murder.

The clip shows Maynard-Ellis, wearing a fancy shirt and jeans, making jokes and standing at the bar.

After Ms. Rawson's family reported her missing, police launched a major search that lasted 47 days before his body parts were finally discovered.

Later footage, taped on the afternoon of May 16, shows Maynard-Ellis dropping the bloodstained sofa and roll of carpet at the Oldbury dump.

It was filmed with his friend John Foster, who had no idea what Maynard-Ellis had done and who was choosing which bin the items should be thrown into.
