First Lady Melania Trump conducted a photoshoot at the White House on Wednesday when the MAGA mob forcibly took over the U.S. Capitol.

CNN reported the whereabouts of the first lady on Friday afternoon, as she has been completely silent since her husband, President Donald Trump, sparked a riot that killed five people, including a Capitol police officer.

"Photos of carpets and other items were taken in the Executive Residence and in the east wing," a person familiar with Melania Trump's activities told the network.

CNN's Kate Bennett had previously reported that the first lady was interested in writing a coffee table book of decorative items that had been restored during her time while overseeing the renovation of the White House.

Professional lighting could be seen through the White House windows, the CNN story also says.

As the mob broke through the Capitol, Melania Trump continued to focus on finishing the filming alongside White House chief Timothy Harleth.

The first lady was asked by her staff if she wanted to publish a statement.

She did not.

A White House source told CNN that the first lady was "checked out".

"She's just not in a place mentally or emotionally to get involved," the source said.

Two of their top employees had resigned by Wednesday evening.

The first was Stephanie Grisham, their spokeswoman and chief of staff, who was also a short-term press officer for the White House.

Grisham was chased out the door by Rickie Niceta, White House Social Secretary.

After the two disappear, the east wing's staff is traced back to bare bones surgery.

Melania Trump has had fewer staff than most first ladies since moving to the White House in June 2017.
