Manchester United captain Harry Maguire was arrested on the island of Mykonos for allegedly attacking police officers after a noisy night.
The £ 85million England international was reportedly embroiled in a bankruptcy with a group of other Englishmen before becoming "very abusive and aggressive" towards officers who arrived to intervene.
Maguire, 27, spent the night in a cell with two other men, although he was supposed to be a teammate between the ages of 28 and 29. The trio are expected to appear before a prosecutor on the nearby island of Syros today.
One of the charges is a serious assault after two of the officers sustained facial injuries.
The middle half was featured drinking at a pool party yesterday with United youngsters Marcus Rashford and Brandon Williams, Love Island star Chris Hughes and snooker player Judd Trump. It's not clear if anyone was with Maguire at that party later that evening.
Police said today that two groups of Englishmen were fighting outside Mykonos' Fabrica bar in the early hours of Friday morning and when they tried to intervene they were rounded off by three men.
Once the brawl was resolved, one of the two groups – the soccer players – began to abuse officers. There were several police officers there. At one point one of the three members of the group – they were 27, 28 and 29 years old – threw a punch at one of the police officers and a fight ensued. & # 39; Petros Vassilakis, said a police spokesman.
All three were arrested, but during the effort the other two, including the soccer player, also became violent. They knocked down at least two policemen, hit them with their fists, and kicked them.
“I can't tell you what they told us. All English swear words against the authorities and against the work of the police. All three, including the soccer player, are being held in the Mykonos cell. You will appear before a public prosecutor on Syros Island later today on charges of aggravated assault. & # 39;

United players are taking time out after their Europa League efforts earlier this month.
The club were eliminated by the Spanish side Sevilla last Sunday.
If they had won this game, they would play Germany against Inter Milan in the final tonight.
Maguire said he was "devastated" by the semi-final against the Spanish side last week.
He added: & # 39; We deserved to get through but we ended up missing the semi-finals for the third time this season.
“It means a lot to us, the boys are devastated. We have a good group of guys who know what it means to play for this club and defeat is not acceptable. Reaching the semi-finals is not acceptable and we have to take another step now.
“Maybe that bit of inexperience cost us in the end. Even if we're at the top and creating opportunities, we shouldn't give that second goal.
“You did well, but we have to do better. We got two crosses and it's not good enough. & # 39;
