A man was charged with murdering a 26-year-old draftsman whose half-naked body was found under a railroad bridge.

26-year-old Ioli Hadjilyras was found dead last Wednesday by a council worker in Kalinga Park, Queensland, in a garden under a railroad overpass.

The 34-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday before being charged with murder.

He was arrested on Tuesday following a tip from a member of the public.

The man will appear before Magistrates Court in Brisbane on September 11th.

The "talented draftswoman" was found without a wallet, ID or phone, and it seemed "some of her clothes, her clothes, were disturbed and removed".

“It is a tragic situation when a young person dies. She died in a public park and we're not sure what made her there, ”said Detective Inspector Trezise.

Ms. Hadjilyra was described by Detective Inspector Trezise as a "popular young lady".

She had lost her mother to cancer years ago and is the third of four siblings.

She has two brothers and a sister, all of whom live in Cyprus.

"They are obviously quite traumatized about this death, and the police are doing everything they can to comfort them and give them answers about what happened to Ioli," said Inpsector Trezise.
