NFL legend Joe Montana rescues his nine-month-old grandchild from the 39-year-old kidnapper who snuck into his California home and tried to date a baby.

NFL legend Joe Montana and his wife were forced to snatch one of their grandchildren from an intruder who had sneaked into their California home.

TMZ Sports reports that the frightening incident took place at around 5 p.m. on Saturday at a Malibu residence where the couple was staying.

Authorities told the publication that 39-year-old Sodsai Dalzell had sneaked into the house through an unlocked door.

Authorities said Dalzell met the sleeping nine-month-old baby, took her out of a playpen and held her in her arms.

TMZ Sports reports that the intruder was soon confronted by Joe and Jennifer Montana.

The couple asked Dalzell to return the child, but eventually a physical argument broke out and Jennifer was able to safely lift the child away.

MPs from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department were in the area on another matter, but someone in the house brought them up to speed on the incident.

The intruder fled the house but was arrested by authorities a few blocks away. She was charged with kidnapping and burglary. Authorities said no one was injured during the incident.

The 64-year-old Montana was first drafted to the San Francisco 49ers in 1979 and later won four Super Bowl championships from 1981 to 1989.

He played a total of 16 seasons in which he won the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.
