Former Vice President Joe Biden called on President Donald Trump's family to choose to take off their masks during the presidential debate in Cleveland last week – while developing a macho attitude that avoids wearing masks.
Biden spoke Monday night just minutes after Trump left Walter Reed's medical facility to re-enter the White House. He took off his own mask to be photographed and then reentered the White House.
Biden speaks at an NBC Florida City Hall said it was not concerned about contracting coronavirus from Trump, who debated him on the same stage in Cleveland on Tuesday when the president may already be infected with COVID-19.
Former Vice President Joe Biden busted the macho's refusal to wear masks just minutes after President Trump staged a photo op and returned from the hospital to the White House, then removed his own mask.
He told NBC's Lester Holt he wasn't worried about his own safety. "I've been demanding about social distancing."
But he confronted the president's family. Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Lara Trump all took off their masks in the discussion room.
"It was a little unsettling to look out and see that nobody in his entire area was wearing masks," he said.
"You could see people walking in and a lot of people weren't wearing masks," Biden said – but did not identify Trump's family members by name.

It was revealed on Wednesday that members of the Cleveland Clinic they sponsored were offering masks to members of the Trump family inside the venue but declined.
When Trump revealed early Friday that he tested positive for COVID-19, he may have been exposed during the debate.
Later at City Hall, Biden attacked people who didn't wear them. "What kind of macho thing is that? I won't wear a mask," he said.
Biden was in Miami just days before his scheduled debate on Trump on October 15 for the second presidential debate on the stage for the City Hall format – which will be of a similar format.
It was arranged in an outdoor location with occasional traffic noise and the candidate could not always hear his masked questioners.
He told one voter he couldn't stand it if Trump went after him again. She said she was concerned the president had bullied him.
Monday's event took place outdoors with undecided voters. Biden sat in a chair a few meters from host Lester Holt.
He described last week's debate as "embarrassing for the nation".
Biden said he himself "would teach the American people the right lesson" and insisted that "masks are important".
When asked about Trump's photo op return from the hospital, Biden said, "I hope no one goes away with the news thinking it's not a problem." It's a serious problem. It's an international pandemic and we have 4 percent of the population and 20 percent of the deaths. "
But he declined to see Trump's medical team to withhold information.
He said, "moment by moment, I am not sure if this is an absolute requirement" in order to divulge any information about the president's health. He said it had national security implications.
"You can't mislead certain things," Biden said.
After blowing up Trump over various issues during the pandemic, Biden said, "I'm not critical of the fact that not every single detail has been made public."
It did so despite the fact that White House Doctor Sean Conley refused to divulge critical information about the president's condition, including the condition of his lungs and exact oxygen levels, while he battled the coronavirus.
