With his gaping grin and cheeky expression, it's clear that Prince George is growing up quickly.
Two pictures of the future king were released today by Kensington Palace on the occasion of his seventh birthday.
Gone are his chubby cheeks and ruffled shirts with a Peter Pan collar that his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, loved to wear as a toddler and beyond.
Instead, we see a little boy, whose disheveled blonde hair combed to the side and wearing a green T-shirt, grinning.
A reasonable choice since one day he will inherit his great-grandmother's coat as chief of the armed forces. George is said to be already obsessed with helicopters like his father.
In another picture he is wearing an olive green favorite polo shirt and shorts.
The pictures were taken by his mother, Kate, at the Norfolk family home, Note Hall, where George and his siblings, Princess Charlotte, five, and two-year-old Prince Louis were locked.
Kate and Prince William are planning a party for George at home tomorrow.

Young George looks scary like his uncle James, whom he adores, although he couldn't see much this year due to the ban.
And like James, 33, he's a sporty type outdoors (his grandfather, Prince Charles, is particularly proud that his eldest grandson inherited his love of the landscape).
The lock-up period was a stroke of luck for George and his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte, five, and two-year-old Prince Louis, who spent so much time outdoors in the family's Norfolk house, Note Hall.
There, the pictures were taken earlier this month by his infatuated mother Kate, an avid amateur photographer who always seems to get the best out of her children.
She and her husband, Prince William, did their best to teach the three teenagers at home, although they admit that it was sometimes difficult.

George appeared to be very jealous of Charlotte's homework from her school, Thomas & # 39; s Battersea, which is much funnier and less challenging than his.
"George is very upset because he wants to do Charlotte's projects," Kate said recently. "Because doing things like spider sandwiches is much cooler than doing literacy work!"
Kate and William did their best to protect George from the future that awaited him and gently gave him the idea that his may be a little better planned than his classmates.
"It's a delicate balance, but they want to protect him as much as possible," said a friend. "As a result, he turns out to be a really happy, balanced little boy."
A spokesman for Kensington Palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are happy to share two new photos of Prince George tomorrow before his seventh birthday.
"The photos were taken by the Duchess earlier this month."
Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born on July 22nd, 2013 at 4:24 pm in the private Lindo wing of St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington and weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces.
A day later, he made his public debut in front of the media around the world on the steps of the hospital, wrapped in a white merino wool scarf that was in the arms of his proud parents.
As the great-grandson of the Queen, he will be the 43rd monarch since William the Conqueror received the crown of England, when he expected to follow the reigns of his grandfather, the Prince of Wales, and then his father William.
In public, George can sometimes appear as a serious little boy who has already developed a clear caution about the cameras that are part of his royal life.
But friends say that although the little prince is definitely more careful and sensitive than his younger sister, Princess Charlotte, five, it is actually a bunch of fun.

Prince George has a remarkable resemblance to Kate's brother James Middleton (33), who also had short light curls and big brown eyes as a teenager (pictured as a child).
Prince George's godmother, Julia Samuels, recently announced that she was buying the "lively and cheeky" royal "impossible" noisy "toys that Prince William needed" days "to put together to make a rune inspired by Princess Diana .
The psychotherapist, 60, London, was close to Lady Diana after meeting her at a dinner party in 1987 and is the godmother of Prince George, who will be seven years old this month.
When she talked about the "How to Fail Elizabeth Day" podcast, she revealed, "It is incredible. He is funny and lively and cheeky and God, she (Diana) would have loved him so much. It is heartbreaking for everyone. & # 39;
She added that she was following in the footsteps of the princess, who was the godmother of her own son, and revealed: "So I'm doing to George what she did to us, namely to give impossible toys that are really loud, and much too do."
Apparently he settled in well in Thomas & # 39; Battersea, where he was supported by Charlotte in September last year.
In the past few months during the coronavirus pandemic, the Duke (38) and Duchess of Cambridge (38) have been teaching Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis at their home in Note Hall in Norfolk.
Prince George joined his family members for NHS Clap for Carers during the coronavirus lock from their house in Note Hall (pictured with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and Prince William and Kate Middleton in April).
Before the pandemic, William and Kate were familiar figures at the school gate and plunged into school life, helped out on coffee morning and cheered their son on from the sidelines on sports day.
The couple was deeply touched by the sensitive way the school staff handled their arrival, especially the other children and parents.
In April the whole family helped out with a local initiative launched by the monarch's staff who prepared and delivered meals to pensioners and the needy in the region during the closure.
This time the cambridges rustled, all enthusiastic cooks, homemade pasta, which they cut into 12 large sacks and tied with raffia to add to the grocery packages. According to sources, all of the children – even little Louis, two – were involved.
The next day, the family then helped load sacks of fresh produce into a van from the Sandringham Visitors' Center that was ready for delivery.
According to sources, William, Kate, Charlotte and George drove around the area for two and a half hours to deliver food to the needy.
