Police confirmed that a man had been arrested on suspicion of criminal harm, possession of a knife, and possession of class A drugs.
MailOnline has requested a comment from the Metropolitan Police.
The alleged arrest comes almost a year later Fawaz's family rejected claims that he was homeless and depressed in London, claiming that he would "be fine".
The barber was seen on the street in Covent Garden last August claiming he slept badly after checking out of a Travelodge for £ 49 a night.
According to The Sun, Fawaz was seen on the streets of London earlier this week looking for shelter prior to his alleged arrest.
Australian-born Fawaz is said to have met George Michael in 2009 and probably from 2012 after the singer from & # 39; Faith & # 39; had separated from longtime partner Kenny Goss.
On Christmas Day 2016, Fawaz found the singer dead at his Göring-on-Thames home after trying to wake him up so they could go to lunch.
At the time of Michael's death at the age of 53, Fawaz claimed it was "suicide".
However, a later investigation found that the singer died of natural causes and had cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver. =

Concerns rose in August 2018 after a post on Fadi's Facebook page indicated that the barber was homeless.
But family members later denied that he was homeless.
Fadi's niece Soumaya, daughter of Rouba, told MailOnline in September last year: "Maybe someone else hacked their Facebook or something, I don't know."
When asked if he was still in contact with them, she added, “Sure, and we hear from other people how he's doing. He'll be fine. & # 39;
Fadi grew up in the Logan Central area of Brisbane but left at the age of 20 to work in Sydney before moving to London.
