At least 11 police officers were injured by a "corrosive substance" in a drug attack in north London.
Officials were visiting an industrial area in Barnet today to issue drugs orders when several were "injured on suspicion of corrosive substances," the Metropolitan Police said.
Witnesses said they heard a loud bang before hundreds of officers along with dozens of paramedics and firefighters flooded the area.
Eleven officers were taken to hospital for treatment after exposure to the substance, but none of their injuries are considered life-threatening.
Several men arrested on suspicion of drug offenses have also been hospitalized after suffering "substance-related" injuries, police said.

Officials were visiting an industrial area in Barnet at around 2:00 pm today to issue drug warrants when several were "injured on suspicion of corrosive substances," the Metropolitan Police said
A press secretary added: “We are awaiting an assessment of the extent of these injuries.
However, it is believed that none are in a life threatening condition. A number of men were arrested at the time on suspicion of drug offenses.
& # 39; They were hospitalized after suffering substance-related injuries as well. Their conditions are not believed to be life threatening. & # 39;
A witness told MailOnline that she saw police officers "knocked down" by firefighters after the incident.
"I just heard a bang and then saw hundreds of emergency services," she said. "The firefighter then told us we had to go and we saw police officers being showered."

Locals speak to police officers at the Barnet crime scene today, where at least ten police officers were injured in an "acid attack".
She added that the area had been "cordoned off" and that more police officers "kept showing up".
The footage of the scene showed several ambulances and fire engines, as well as numerous patrol cars and apparently armed officers.
Scotland Yard confirmed that the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade are also participating in the ongoing incident.
"Full investigations into the exact circumstances continue," added a statement.
"The Met's Professional Standards Directorate has been routinely informed."
