The police still have to find out where the car was at the weekend and how it drove 15 km before it hit a barrier on the highway.

Rogers was arrested early Sunday morning.

The 47-year-old has since been charged with car theft and bail related crimes, Victoria police confirmed to Daily Mail Australia.

He was placed in pre-trial detention to appear before Broadmeadows Magistrates Court on September 4th.
