Bond girl Tanya Roberts died just 24 hours after her agent's untimely death while struggling for her life in intensive care.
Obituaries for the 65-year-old former Charlie & # 39; s Angels star were released worldwide on Monday after her agent told the media that she died on Sunday at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
In an emotional interview the following afternoon, her partner Lance O & # 39; Brien burst into tears when he received a call from the hospital.
"Now are you telling me she's alive?" O & # 39; Brien said, his face torn with fear.
Sobbing, he said to the interviewer: “The hospital tells me that she is alive. You're calling me from the ICU team. & # 39;
Roberts suffered from an unspecified illness that resulted in liver and kidney failure.
"Today the doctors told me that it is best to let her die and end her life," he told The Sun on Tuesday.
Roberts, who had spent the day walking her dogs, complained of being unwell on Christmas Eve and collapsed on the way to the bathroom that night.
She was taken to the hospital, where she tested negative for coronavirus, and was put on a ventilator before her condition quickly deteriorated.
O'Brien said he went to the hospital on Sunday after doctors said the actress faded quickly and she was going to die, TMZ reported. He said she opened her eyes and tried to grab him, but then her eyes closed again and she "faded".
After saying what he thought were his last words to her, he was devastated and left the hospital without speaking to medical staff.
On the same day, he appeared to be claiming that he had Roberts & # 39; & # 39; last moments & # 39; seen and hours later worldwide about her & # 39; Death & # 39; reported.
He has since tried to explain the confusion about how the obituary came about and says he doesn't know who was responsible for the mix-up. The hospital has refused to comment on the case for reasons of patient confidentiality.
"I turn around and she passed out completely," he said to The Sun, describing his harrowing visit to her bedside. “I thought that was that, she wasn't going to recover.
When I came down the elevator I was disturbed, I was lost, I was completely confused. There was no one to guide me. I called her publicist, Mike Pingel, and said I just said goodbye to Tanya. & # 39;

She tests negative for Covid, but is taken to the intensive care unit because of kidney and liver failure. Doctors say she has a blood infection with an ITU that is suspected to be the cause.
O & # 39; Brien says he cannot visit her because of the hospital's rules.
In the next few daysHe receives a call from Roberts telling him that she has been given 50 percent oxygen. Down by 90 percent.
He is later informed by medical professionals that they should be able to discharge her soon, but that she will need a colostomy bag for several weeks.
But confusion arises, he is later informed that she is going to die and is asked to say goodbye to her.
SUNDAY, JAN. 3:
O & # 39; Brien visits her and holds her in his arms as he says goodbye. Roberts can't speak, but O'Brien claims he sees her eyes open. Doctors tell him it's a muscle spasm.
Leaving her distraught, he calls her agent, Mike Pingel, to say, "I just said goodbye to Tanya."
On the same day, he appeared to be claiming that he had seen Roberts' "last moments" and hours later her "death" was reported around the world.

The next afternoon, during an interview, O & # 39; Brien receives a call from the hospital informing him that Roberts is alive.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 5:
O & # 39; Brien confirms that Roberts died Monday night at LA Cedars Sinai Hospital
He stated, "Lance really believed Tanya had died."
The spokesman said he got the news from Roberts & # 39; & # 39; Death & # 39; & # 39; learned from O & # 39; Brien, who told TMZ that he visited her in hospital before she died.
When I caught her in her final moments, she opened her eyes. I could see her beautiful eyes one last time. Tanya had the most beautiful eyes, ”said O'Brien on Sunday.
When she saw me and I was there, I saw her eyes open. I felt good. I said, "Hey, your eyes are opening. Your eyes are opening." You told me it was just a reflex. & # 39;
Then Pingel announced on Monday that the hospital had called O & # 39; Brien and told him that Roberts was alive – as seen in the Inside Edition video.
When asked about the mix-up, a Cedars Sinai spokesman simply said, "Due to patient confidentiality, we cannot confirm or deny that anyone is a patient at Cedars Sinai."
Pingel has since said that Roberts' condition is "terrible" and told people, "It's not looking good right now. Keep them in your prayers."
O & # 39; Brien told The Sun, “Your kidneys are so far away, your liver is so far away, your gallbladder is so far away. She also has a terrible blood infection. Doctors say it started with a urinary tract infection.
"The doctors say there is no way she will be the same. She always told me that she didn't want to be an invalid. She said when the time comes, stop it for me."
He said he couldn't return to the hospital because he needed special permission because of the pandemic and would prefer to let her die with dignity.
O & # 39; Brien said he told the doctors not to stay life sustaining just so he could see her: "I've seen her before, I need to hold her."
He explained how suddenly her illness had been, that Roberts was incredibly fit and would hike up to four miles in the hills every day.
Roberts complained about being unwell on Christmas Eve and told O & # 39; Brien she wanted him to take her for a Covid test the next day.
But early in the morning around 4am she collapsed on the way to the bathroom and when Lance tried to pick her up, she couldn't control her legs or arms.
An ambulance was called and she was admitted, but O & # 39; Brien was not allowed to visit.
Her coronavirus test was negative and he was able to call Roberts on the phone later. She told him that she had 50 percent oxygen, which was an improvement on the 90 percent air she was breathing before.
"So I think she'll be home in a day or two," O & # 39; Brien told The Sun.
Pingel (left with Roberts) did not explain what caused the confusion about her health
The situation continued to improve the next day. O'Brien shared that Roberts may need a colostomy bag for her kidneys for four to six weeks, but she could return home.
But he added, "Then tell me she's not getting out of here, it's the end of life and if you want to visit her, come and see her."
O & # 39; Brien remains confused about how he came to the conclusion that she was dead and said he often spoke to various medical professionals. Since he was unable to visit him, it was difficult to understand the timeframe in which her forecast was relayed to him.
DailyMail.com reached out to Pingel and Cedars-Sinai to clarify how O & # 39; Brien could have believed his partner had died.
TMZ said it had heard from multiple sources close to the family who claimed O'Brien called them with news of Roberts' death on Sunday.

In his original statement to TMZ, O'Brien said he was banned from visiting his wife in the hospital due to coronavirus protocols, but staff made an exception when her condition worsened on Saturday.
