An autopsy report released Friday revealed that Glee actress Naya Rivera raised her arm and called for help when she accidentally drowned while boating with her four-year-old son on a California lake.
After his mother helped him back on the boat after swimming, the boy noticed the deceased lifted her arm in the air and shouted "help," the Ventura County Medical Examiner report said. "The deceased then disappeared into the water."
Authorities had previously said Rivera accidentally drowned after putting boy Josey Hollis Dorsey back on the boat on Lake Piru, northwest of Los Angeles on July 8, but failed to mention that she was calling for help.
Rivera's mother, Yolanda, told investigators that her daughter "could swim well," the report said.
"Yolanda said he and the deceased counted" 1,2,3 "according to Josey and then jumped off the boat together," the report said.
Shortly after they jumped into the water, the deceased told Josey to get back on the boat. She helped him onto the boat and he then heard the deceased screaming "Help" and she put her arm in the air. She then disappeared into the water. & # 39;

From child actress to glee star: The life of Naya Rivera
Naya Rivera, four years old, as Hillary Winston on the CBS sitcom The Royal Family
Naya Rivera was born on January 12, 1987 in Santa Clarita, California, to former model Yolanda Rivera and actor George Rivera.
She began her acting career when she was just a few months old, starring in ads for Kmart as a baby before starring as Hillary Winston on the CBS sitcom The Royal Family at the age of four.
Rivera's personal life came into the spotlight during her stint at Glee, which began in 2009.
She started dating artist Big Sean in April 2013, got engaged in October 2013, but ended the relationship six months later – she later hinted that she caught him cheating on singer Ariana Grande.
Speaking of the breakup in her book, she wrote, “We had been fighting for five days while traveling, and the one day he was back in LA he said he didn't want to see me.
“Well, I have a key to your house. I go in, go down the stairs, and guess which little girl is sitting cross-legged on the couch listening to music? "It rhymes with" Smariana Schmande ".
She then started dating Actor Ryan Dorsey, whom she previously dated in his early 20s. The couple married on July 19, 2014 in Cabo, San Lucas, Mexico – using the same date set for their marriage to Big Sean.
Seven months later, they announced that they had a son, Josey Hollis, who was born in September 2015.
In November 2016, the couple filed for divorce. They briefly reconciled until November 2017 when Rivera was arrested and charged with domestic battery crimes against Dorsey in Kanawha County, West Virginia.
She reportedly hit him in the head during a series about her child, but the charges were later dropped. The couple eventually divorced in 2018 and shared custody of Josey.
Rivera's stint at Glee won her numerous award nominations. She had broken through at the age of 22 after years of guest and recurring TV roles in shows like Baywatch and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
During this time, in 2011, she signed with Columbia Records and embarked on a solo singing career. In 2013 she released a single with rapper Big Sean – who she was with at the time – called Sorry.
Rivera made her film debut as Vera in the horror film At the Devil's Door in 2014, then returned to television to play the recurring role of Blanca on Devious Maids in 2015.
A year later, at the age of 29, she published her memoir, entitled Sorry, not sorry: dreams, mistakes, and growing up.
Rivera's brother Mychal Rivera is a retired NFL player for the Oakland Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars. Her sister Nickayla Rivera is a model.
The man who rented her pontoon boat said she refused a life jacket, but he brought one on board anyway.
The report found that the 33-year-old previously had problems with dizziness, recently had a sinus infection, and had a small amount of prescribed amphetamines in her system, but did not identify any physical conditions or the prescribed medications as factors contributing to her death.
Toxicological tests also showed that she had small therapeutic amounts of the anti-anxiety drug diazepam and the appetite suppressant phentermine in her system.
She had a blood alcohol level of 0.016%. Three 12-ounce cans of White Claw Hard Seltzer were found on Rivera's boat.
One was empty, another was about three-quarters full, and the third was unopened.
The remainder of a pack of 12 was found in her car.
Investigators found her purse on the boat. Inside was her cell phone, syringes with an as yet unidentified pink liquid substance, ID and a filled prescription for amphetamine.
The autopsy report states, "Based on the results of the autopsy, the known circumstances surrounding death, and the lack of an anatomical or toxicological explanation for death as currently understood, the cause of death is drowning and the mode of death is an accident."
Josey, Rivera's son with her ex-husband, actor Ryan Dorsey, was found sleeping and alone on the drifting boat later that afternoon.
Five days later, her body was found swimming in an area of the lake that is about 30 feet deep.
According to her death certificate
The Ventura County Sheriff's Office said she was most likely trapped underwater in thick vegetation for several days before swimming to the top.
Josey was immediately reunited with his father and other relatives.
The day before her death, Rivera tweeted a photo of the two that said, "Just the two of us." In her memoir, she called him "my greatest achievement and I will never do better than him".
After her death, Rivera's family issued a statement that read: “Heaven has won our cheeky angel.
“We are so grateful for the love and prayers for Naya, Josey and our family over the past week.
“As we mourn the loss of our beautiful legend, we are blessed to honor its eternal inheritance and magnetic spirit. Naya was an amazing talent, but an even greater person, mother, daughter and sister.
“Thank you to the men and women of the Ventura, Tulare, and San Luis Obispo Counties Sheriff's Departments for your dedication and unwavering efforts to find Naya.
“We thank the heroine who found her, infinitely grateful and with ovations. Thank you to your friends, colleagues and fans for your continued support. & # 39;
After her death, her ex-husband Dorsey paid tribute to her and promised that Josey would grow up knowing that his mother loved him more than life.
“Life is all about good and bad times, but with Josey it makes the bad a little less because part of you will always be with us.
“He will never forget where he comes from. We miss you. We will always love you. & # 39;

CORY MONTEITH & # 39; S FATAL DRUG AND DRINK BATTLE
At the beginning of the behind-the-scenes demise on July 13, 2013, Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson, was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room after ingesting a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol. He had been in rehab four months before his death.

Cory was dating Lea Michele at the time of his death. After the news of his overdose it became known that Lea called his mother hysterically and screaming: "Is it true?" After his death, she published a statement.
The actress said of her representative: “Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she has received from family, friends and fans. Since Cory's death, Lea has been mourning his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They support each other when they endure this profound loss together. & # 39;
Lea, who is expecting her first child with husband Zandy Reich, started dating Cory in 2012 and said after his death: “There was no man bigger than Cory. I consider myself very lucky for the time that we spent together. & # 39;

She said he fought his fair share of demons from a young age, drank and smoked marijuana from the age of 13, and in rehab when he was 19 when he went to Hollywood at the age of two.
Ann, who admitted her son was back on drugs in December 2012, seven months before his death, said: “He wasn't ready for the Hollywood world. Drugs were his way of checking out. After his death, she said, “I still can't pick up the pieces. My world has totally stopped. And I'm a different person than before. & # 39;

MARK SALLINGS TERRIBLE CHILD PORN BELIEF AND DEATH
Undoubtedly, the show's most terrible suffering was the arrest of Mark Salling in 2015 and subsequent conviction in 2017 for possession of more than 50,000 pictures and 600 videos of girls, some of whom were as young as three, were raped. It has been described as "the worst pornography collection the nation has ever seen".
Mark Salling played Noah & # 39; Puck & # 39; Puckerman
Salling, who appeared on the show Noah & # 39; Puck & # 39; Puckerman was playing, trying to hide it by masking his IP address and storing it on an encrypted hard drive. They were revealed to the police by an ex-girlfriend who he showed them to. She fell ill and notified the authorities. In his plea, the extent of his collection was described in shocking details.
He was found dead on January 30, 2018 near his home in Sunland, Los Angeles. His death came shortly before his sentencing, which was due to take place on March 7th. He attempted suicide last year by slitting his wrists and was treated for mental health problems.
Salling dated Naya from 2007 to 2010. In her 2016 memoir Sorry Not Sorry: Dreaming, Mistaking, and Growing Up, the actress admitted she wasn't surprised by his terrible beliefs.
She wrote: “I can't say I was totally shocked. When Mark dropped me I thought it was the worst, but can you imagine that didn't happen? …
"And I was there in bed when the battering ram came through the door?"
Before his death in January 2013, Salling's ex-girlfriend Roxanne Gorzela accused him of the sexual battery by forcing her to have unprotected sex without consent. He denied the charges and counterclaimed defamation. In March 2015, they were sentenced out of court by judges ordering him to pay $ 2.7 million.

LEA MICHELES DRAMA BEHIND THE SCENES
Lea Michele, who played Rachel Berry on the show, has been plagued by rumors in recent weeks after a multitude of cast members and crew members accused the lead actress of bullying on the set.
Allegations of on-set bullying began last month with a tweet from Lea's co-star Samantha Ware accusing her of being rude to her set and "traumatic micro-aggression".

Others, including Heather Morris, Dabier Snell, and Yvette Nicole Brown, then piled up with accusations of their own against the actress. Lea was subsequently dropped by her sponsor HelloFresh.
Morris, 33, who played cheerleader Brittany S. Pierce on the Ryan Murphy Show, claims it was "very" uncomfortable to work with Michele, saying, "Was it uncomfortable to work with her?" Very much so; I believe Lea should be called in to treat others with the disrespect she has done for as long as she has. & # 39;
Lea apologized and said that she had "never judged others by their background or skin color". She also insisted that she learn from the mistakes she made so that she can "be a real role model for my child" when she gives birth in a few months.
Naya and Lea are known to have had some friction on the set, with the previous writing in their book: “One of the Glee writers once said that Lea and I were like two sides of the same battery and that gets to the point. We're both strong-willed and competitive – not just with each other, but with everyone – and that's not a good mix …
"We're all stressed out, yes, but we're all working towards the same goal, so laugh at it and keep it moving." Lea was much more sensitive, however, and it seemed like she blamed me for everything that went wrong. & # 39;

CREW MEMBERS PRICES: & # 39; WE LOST ANOTHER & # 39;
There were three heartbreaking deaths between 2013 and 2014. Assistant director Jim Fuller died of heart failure in his sleep three months after Cory's death in 2013.
Production assistant Nancy Motes
In the fourth season, Jim received a subtle greeting, while Glee cameraman Joaquin Sedillo wrote on Twitter after his death: “This is so sad news. Jim was such a great guy and was always so good to me. & # 39;
Then, in 2014, the cast was "devastated" by the death of production assistant Nancy Motes, sister of Julia Roberts. Nancy died at the age of 37 after drowning in a bath on February 9, 2014. She was found surrounded by nonprescription and prescription pills, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner.
In her suicide note, she claimed the actress was so cruel that she drove me into the deepest depression I've ever been through. She described the Oscar-winning sibling as a so-called sibling who wasn't supposed to get anything when she died – except for the reminder that she'd pushed her over the edge.
In the handwritten note used as evidence in court during a lawsuit over her estate, Nancy said Roberts' abuse was so severe that "I burst into tears waking up".
Following Nancy's tragic death, production assistant Cristina Lageman spoke to MailOnline about Jim's death, Nancy's suicide, and concerns about a curse on the series.
Cristina said: “She was such a good friend to me. It's just shocking. Yes, she had her own little problems, but when we met we just banded up and she never let her reach her. It's such a shock what happened to Cory last year, then we let a crew member, Jim Fuller, die. Now we have this hit and it's almost too much.
