Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon spoke to Sansa Stark about the controversial and harrowing rape scene of his character Ramsay Bolton.
And the 35-year-old described the moment that followed Unbowed 2015 as the "worst day of his career".
Ramsay raped his new wife Sansa, played by Sophie Turner on their wedding night, while forcing Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) to watch.
Horrible: Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon has described the shooting of the 2015 scene in which he raped Sophie Turner's character Sansa Stark (both pictured) as the "worst day of his career."
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Iwan said, “That was awful. Nobody wanted to be there. Nobody wants to do that, but if it tells a story it has to be told truthfully.
"They didn't make it sensational or anything. It was very, very difficult to watch. It's a terrible thing that unfortunately happens and that it shouldn't be. It was the worst day of my career."
Ivan went on to compare the moment to some of the other evil deeds Ramsay performed, stating that this moment was the most uncomfortable thing he did.
The former Misfits star continued, "If you chop off someone's finger, you don't really see them. If you take a close-up, it's a piece of plastic." We're just acting, it's not real.
"Then something like that, where you are in the actual reality of the situation, is very difficult to deal with. It's been a terrible, terrible day."
Traumatic: The Misfits star pictured in 2017 said at the moment: “Nobody wanted to be there. Nobody wants to do that, but if it tells a story it has to be told truthfully. "
Dark Twist: Ivan originally auditioned for Jon Snow, who eventually went to Kit Harington before he got his wicked part
In 2016, Iwan went on to describe what it was like to play such an evil character in a gig that morning.
The TV star spoke to Phil and Holly about preventing his mother from doing what his character was up to.
He said, "I don't think she needs to see this. I think she hears things and just worries more about her son and whether it affects me!"
He added, "She only sees her son, she doesn't see any character."
With such a quick turnaround per episode, Iwan confessed that his character's grueling storylines no longer worry him.
"It gets to the point where you" really? "Think, but nothing surprises you about him anymore! He's not a very nice young man. He's become that monster," he said.
The talented star who originally auditioned for Jon Snow, who went to Kit Harington, went on to share his admiration for these fellow actors.
"It's such a quick turnaround and so many scenes in one day … you just have to be up all the time. There's no time to rehearse or do stuff and it was a brilliant workout for me .
