Newsham said the suspects fled on foot when they were approached by police. A man was shot dead at the scene and pronounced dead.

Police say two guns were brought from the scene.

White added, “We have seen this tale too many times in America and now it hits home.

I spoke to his mom about 15 minutes ago and we want to find out what is on the body camera to see if he ran away, why he was shot. & # 39;

"[Police] said two guns were recovered, but when the question was asked, 'Was he armed? "Since there was no clear answer, we want to know the facts about what happened to this young man."

Kay's aunt Marie McNeil, 57, said her nephew told her he loved her the last time she saw him Wednesday morning.

Police had previously tweeted: 'Preliminary information regarding an MPD officer involved in the shooting in the 200 block of Orange St SE. A grown man was taken to a local hospital.
