"They wanted more money, but I had nothing left to give."
Police officers say they found forensic evidence in the man's house that matched a boy suspected of robbery.
The evidence led to the arrest of two 15-year-old boys and a 12-year-old boy, all of whom were charged with heavily breaking into the home.
The three children were also accused of a killing spree that night, consisting of a house invasion on Robinson Avenue and an attempted break-in on Brookman Street.
While the 12-year-old boy was in custody, the police said he spat on a police officer and acted disorderly.
You have charged him with assault and disorderly behavior in a police station or prison, the police said in Western Australia.
The police have not found the fourth child involved in the crime and the investigation is ongoing.
