- The emblem was covered up in several programs with Kim Jong Un
- NK News reported that it was also removed from the daily 15-minute propaganda video
- The Korean leader consolidated his rule in the country with a change of title in July 2019
North Korean television covered up the emblem of Kim Jong Un's Supreme Command after his official title as commander-in-chief was changed.
The leader's title was officially changed from commander-in-chief to head of state and military commander-in-chief last July, helping to consolidate his rule in the country.
The marshal star and wreath logo has been removed from several programs about the North Korean leader and a daily feature that contains the country's propaganda slogans for the new year.
Before: Kim Jong Un's emblem was previously seen in the background of propaganda videos from North Korea
After: The emblem appeared to have been removed from the 15-minute propaganda video and other programs about Kim Jong Un
According to NK News, the 15-minute propaganda video was edited sometime between February 18 and 19, the New York Post reported.
The removal of the emblem has been linked to the new constitutional changes that came into force in July.
Earlier this month, Kim Jong Un made a public appearance for the first time after 20 days away, causing rumors about his health.
There were reports in April that he had undergone heat surgery. A Japanese sales outlet said the operation failed and left the leader in a vegetative state. Others claimed that he died.
Suh Hoon spoke to a parliamentary committee, the head of South Korea's intelligence agency, on May 6, saying nothing showed that the rumors about Kim's illness were true.
"NIS estimates that it has at least not had any heart-related surgery or interventions," committee member Kim Byung-kee told reporters.

However, lawmakers said Kim Jong Un had only 17 public appearances so far this year, compared to an average of 50 from previous years that NIS attributed to a possible coronavirus outbreak in North Korea.
According to Chad O & # 39; Carroll, CEO of Korea Risk Group, a Seoul-based organization that pursues North Korea, Kim has been the 21 least public appearance since taking office in 2011.
