Suzanne Morphew's husband was paid to mess on the construction site that the Colorado police are looking for

Suzanne Morphew's husband was paid to mess on the home construction site where the Colorado police are now looking for the missing mother of two who disappeared on Mother's Day.

The 52-year-old Barry Morphew had worked on the property in Salida and laid dirt on the riverside land, about 19 km from the couple's house, before his wife mysteriously disappeared almost two weeks ago, the owner said CBS4 .

Morphew, who made a passionate social media video asking for his wife's return, said he was on a training course for his volunteer firefighter job in Denver when his wife disappeared.

Agents of the FBI, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office were shown on Friday as they searched buckets of newly laid dirt and debris that they had unearthed from the ground.

The Chafe County sheriff's office said the search ended at 5:00 p.m. Friday, but that it will resume on Saturday at the construction site.

The authorities said the search had shifted to the address, which is based on "information developed during the missing person case by Suzanne Morphew."

"In response to widespread rumors, the Chaffee County sheriff's office announced that Ms. Morphew was not found and there were no arrests in the investigation," the sheriff's office said after the search on Friday.

A white tent was erected on the property on Friday, and officers were spotted looking in the dirt for clues to Suzanne's whereabouts.

A Evidence Response Team truck was stationed nearby.

The person who owned the property was cooperative and not linked to the mother's disappearance, the authorities said.

Suzanne Morphew, 49, (pictured with husband Barry Morphew) has not been heard since May 9. A bicycle of the mother of two was recovered from a bridge near her home on May 10, according to local sources. Her husband said he was not in town when she disappeared

The 49-year-old Suzanne has not been heard since May 9. A mother-of-two's bike was recovered from a bridge near her home on May 10, the same day she was reported missing, according to local sources.

As seen in exclusive photos, policemen were seen on Tuesday carrying evidence bags and equipment in Morphew's $ 1.5 million three-bedroom house outside of Calida.

At home, there was also a CSI photographer who was taped.

Evidence bags were discovered that were brought out and loaded into a van.

DailyMail.com learned that it was her daughters Mallory and Macy who raised the alarm for the first time after failing to reach them on Mother's Day on the way back from an Idaho camping trip.

Friends said they asked 70-year-old neighbor Jeanne Ritter to look after Suzanne when they couldn't reach her, and it was Ritter who later called the police to report them missing.

Ritter declined to comment when addressed by DailyMail.com.

Summer Stehle, 43, the stepmother of 17-year-old Macy's best friend, said: “The neighbors up there are pretty far apart, but the only reason they found out (she was missing) is because the girls are neighbors Calling and saying "We have never heard of mom – can you check on her?"

"Unfortunately nobody saw her on her bike."

On Sunday, Morphew made a passionate plea for his wife's safe return in a video posted on social media. He also offered a $ 200,000 reward.

But DailyMail.com can now show that Morphew has not been allowed to enter the house he shared with Suzanne since he returned from Denver.

The police also have his car and cell phone – the businessman and the volunteer fireman have to communicate through his close friend George Davis, 33.

Davis declined to comment when contacted by DailyMail.com and said he was too busy to talk.

Colleagues from the Morphew Fire Department were instructed not to participate in the police search, although the locals said Morphew and his friends had searched for Suzanne.

The 52-year-old currently lives on a property near the marriage house and was accompanied by friends who flew in from his native Indiana.

A woman in the house refused to give her name on Monday, but said that she and her husband had come to support Morphew and look for Suzanne.

It is not known where the couple's daughters are currently located.

The Chaffee County sheriff department had searched Suzanne in two-mile "target blocks" on either side of her house, but did not search on Monday.

Suzanne, who had just been given the all-clear after being diagnosed with cancer, has been missing for at least nine days.

No trace of the mother of two children was found except for the bike and "a personal item" – although the Chaffee County sheriff, John Spezze, brought in 90 additional officers to help with the search.

Your three bedroom home is on a remote mountain pass, roughly nine miles outside of Salida, in rough terrain.

Drones were used to comb the area, along with search and rescue K-9s and body detection dogs brought from nearby Buena Vista.

Tim Nelson, 33, said, “In the sheriff's office, they told us that none of the firefighters are allowed up there.

"You can't keep us out of the forest, so some of the others did – they started their own little search group."

Nelson added: “It's a bad business you know. They don't tell us anything. We were excluded from everything.

& # 39; George (Davis) put together a search team – I wanted to go, but pretty much all of our firefighters are there, so I decided to resign just in case we got anything (a fire).

Barry was very understanding of what I got from George. I know he can't go home. He's with a neighbor. I think they took him there until he was cleared up or … & # 39;

When he talked about Morphew, he said, "It's hard for him. As for communication, he currently has no phone – it is relayed through firefighters, so we get information.

"He tried to stay busy – he can't sit still and hope something will show up."

Stehle added: “Your family is wonderful, your daughters are wonderful. It's really sad that something like this came to such a good family.
